Life Enriching Quotations - and Longfellow
I still remember vividly - I can picture my elementary school classroom decorated with posters of famous quotations. Perhaps I was grade 2 in P. Gomez, Elementary School a leading public school in Manila and if I am not mistaken my English teacher was a kind old lady named Mrs. Rivera. One of my favorites was the quote below whose image in my mind remained in even after 28 years exactly as it was displayed in the classroom wall:
“Kind hearts are the gardens, Kind thoughts are the roots, Kind words are the flowers, Kind deeds are the fruits.Take care of your garden And keep out the weeds, Fill it with sunshine Kind words and kind deeds.”
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
I searched it on the web and found a "cool" site which says that Longfellow was the the most popular American Poet in the 19th century, 1807-1882 :

I also found this nice quoute about Kindness:
“Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the and the blind can see”
Mark Twain quotes (American Humorist, Writer and Lecturer. 1835-1910)
